Injection guide: week 6

Remove the pen cap from your KwikPen and attach a new pen needle. Then, after priming the pen, inject 5.0 mg once this week. Remove the used pen needle and safely dispose of it in the sharps container.

Tips for managing side effects

The most common tirzepatide side effects are gastrointestinal in nature (nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea and acid reflux). To help manage these side effects, try:

• Eating smaller, more frequent meals
• Eating slowly
• Drinking more water
• Avoiding fatty or sweet foods
• Eating bland foods

Remember, if your side effects last longer that a few weeks or become moderate, frequent, or unmanageable, message your healthcare practitioner. If they become severe (e.g., significant or persistent abdominal pain), seek in-person care with a healthcare practitioner, or visit a walk-in clinic or the emergency department.
