Cancer can grow for a long time without causing symptoms. As it grows it sheds DNA into the blood stream, and that DNA is distinguishable from the rest. The Galleri test can pick up on that difference before cancerous symptoms tend to appear. 1,3

How the Galleri multi-cancer early detection test works
-

Every cell leaves DNA behind3
Cells shed fragments of DNA into your blood as they turn over. The fragments that come from cancer carry different methylation patterns and that difference is what makes them findable.
-

The test reads the pattern1,3
Two small tubes of blood are enough. The Galleri test reads the methylation patterns across those fragments, looking for a pattern shared by more than 50 types of cancer.
-

Signals predict cancer origin4
Finding a signal is only half of it. The test also predicts the tissue or organ it most likely came from, so your practitioner knows where to start looking.
A clear picture of your results, and support every step of the way
-
No Cancer Signal Detected
About 99 in 100 people get this result.2 Keep up with the routine screening your practitioner recommends, retest next year, and reach out to your Felix healthcare practitioner any time you need support.
-
Cancer Signal Detected
This result comes back for roughly 1 in 100 people.2 It means cancer-associated DNA was found in your sample, along with a prediction of where in the body it came from. Since follow-up testing is needed to confirm whether cancer is present, your Felix healthcare practitioner will arrange a follow-up to discuss next steps.

Frequently asked questions
The Galleri multi-cancer early detection test screens for a signal associated with more than 50 types of cancer from a single blood draw.¹ A cancer signal detected result does not diagnose cancer on its own, but it can indicate that follow-up diagnostic evaluation is warranted.
This add-on is designed for patients who want a proactive, multi-cancer early detection test alongside their broader health data. It can be a useful option for adults who want to add more visibility beyond standard screening pathways, especially for cancers that do not have routine screening tests today. Galleri is available with a requisition only, through your Felix healthcare practitioner.
Results are reported through your Felix account. There are two possible test results, No Cancer Signal Detected result or a Cancer Signal Detected result. If a signal is detected, the report will also indicate the most likely tissue of origin to help guide next steps with your care team.
The Galleri multi-cancer test can be taken annually as part of an ongoing proactive screening strategy.
No, the Galleri multi-cancer early detection test is not diagnostic. If a cancer signal is detected, further diagnostic testing in person is needed to confirm cancer. The test does not detect a signal for all cancers, and not all cancers can be detected in the blood. False positive and false negative results do occur. We recommend talking to your healthcare provider to determine if additional testing is needed.

Important safety information
The Galleri test is recommended for use in adults with an elevated risk for cancer, such as those age 50 or older. The test does not detect all cancers and should be used in addition to routine cancer screening tests recommended by a healthcare provider. The Galleri test is intended to detect cancer signals and predict where in the body the cancer signal is located. Use of the test is not recommended in individuals who are pregnant, 21 years old or younger, or undergoing active cancer treatment. Results should be interpreted by a healthcare provider in the context of medical history, clinical signs, and symptoms. A test result of No Cancer Signal Detected does not rule out cancer. A test result of Cancer Signal Detected requires confirmatory diagnostic evaluation by medically established procedures (e.g., imaging) to confirm cancer. If cancer is not confirmed with further testing, it could mean that cancer is not present or testing was insufficient to detect cancer, including due to the cancer being located in a different part of the body. False positive (a cancer signal detected when cancer is not present) and false negative (a cancer signal not detected when cancer is present) test results do occur. Rx only. For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
