What is Livostin used for?

Livostin is a prescription antihistamine eye drop that temporarily relieves symptoms associated with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis including irritation, redness, and itchy eyes. It is also known by its generic name levocabastine hydrochloride. The usual dose is one drop in each affected eye four times a day. Livostin should start to relieve your symptoms within 10 to 15 minutes of application to the eyes.

How does Livostin work?

As a selective histamine receptor antagonist, Livostin blocks the actions of the naturally occurring substance histamine in the body. Histamine causes an allergic reaction as a response to an allergy trigger. By preventing this reaction, Livostin provides relief from allergy symptoms that are caused by substances like grass, pollen, dust, or mould.
